About Us
Northern Farm and Flowers is a family-owned farm and farm store. Owner Richard Weigold is a sixth-generation farmer, carrying on a proud family legacy rooted in Connecticut agriculture. His great-grandfather made dairy history as the first to homogenize milk at the Torrington Creamery.
In 2022, Richard and his family opened Northern Farm and Flowers in Goshen, offering a year-round farm market, fresh-cut flowers, and a pick-your-own flower experience.
Northern Farm and Flowers raises seasonally pastured chicken, forest-raised pork, and produces farm-fresh eggs, potatoes, and garlic, both for retail and wholesale.
The farm store sells a variety of local goods including seasonal vegetables, cheeses, baked goods, coffee and tea, beverages, candles, soaps, and more.

Practices
The farm is committed to sustainable and regenerative practices. We do not use any chemicals on the farm.
Our poultry is humanely raised and live a stress-free life. They are fed a non-medicated, non-GMO feed which is unnecessary when raising small batches. Our poultry is seasonally pastured, which means they are raised outdoors on pasture during the spring, summer, and fall.
Our hogs are born and raised right here on the farm — we do not buy feeder piglets. We’re building our herd with health and strong genetics in mind. While predominantly Berkshire, our animals also carry Duroc and Yorkshire bloodlines, which creates excellent marbling and rich flavor. They rotate weekly through wooded pasture where they forage perennial plants and acorns, supplemented with a balanced non-GMO grain ration. Sunlight, fresh water, and room to roam are always a priority.
Our beef is grass-fed and raised in East Canaan, Connecticut, in partnership with KM Cattle, who shares our same principles in delivering quality meat proteins to the family table.
