About Us
Micro2life LLC is an agricultural business based out of Bloomfield, CT, that operates on 2 acres of farmland. Founded in 2018, by Emmanuel Marte and Zania Johnson, the mission of Micro2life is to educate and supply organic vegetables to the local community. Micro2life believes in regenerative agricultural practices such as low-till farming with the use of local organic soil amendments. Their farm has a strong focus on community nutrition education. They partner with Hartford Public Schools (HPS), where they supply their produce and teach students about farm-to-table and the nutritional benefits of eating locally grown vegetables. The vegetables they provide for this school district include collard greens, bok choy, kale, peppers, tomatoes, green beans, and calabaza pumpkin. Micro2Life aims to grow produce that connects students to culturally relevant foods in school by reinforcing staple food items served in the home. Since partnering with HPS, they have produced over 2 tons of produce that has been distributed to the Hartford school district.
